 Personal life



 Jessica Steen was born in Toronto (Ontario) to Joanna Noyes, an actor and Jan Steen who is a director and actor. Steen is of Dutch, Scottish and Irish descent.



 



 Steen is also an advocate for animal rights and environmentalistin addition to her business in entertainment. Steen is a strong supporter of David Suzuki, the World Society for the Protection of Animals and the Western Canadian Wilderness Committee, in addition to other groups. She is certified as a diver and has been trained in a variety of circus arts, like fire-twirling and stilt-walking.
